The computer problems plaguing the Palm Beach County Clerk of Courts continue Saturday, although there are some signs that a fix may be near. What is being described as a “hardware” issue knocked much of the Clerk’s system offline earlier this week.
The result: anyone trying to access most court records — police, attorneys, media, the general public — have been unable to do so. It’s a problem amplified by the Clerk’s success: so much is accessible online that the inevitable computer failure from time to time shows how advanced the office is.
Here’s the latest statement from the court system provided to BocaNewsNow.com: “Palm Beach County’s network continues to be affected by a major hardware failure that impacted multiple agencies, including the Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller, Palm Beach County. The County continues to work with our office to restore court and official records access as quickly as possible. We will continue to provide updates online and on social media. For questions regarding electronic court filings, log into the statewide eFiling portal.”
Here’s the message that appears on the Clerk’s website Saturday morning: “Services Unavailable Due to County Network Outage: eCaseview court records search, Official Records search, jury information, marriage license applications and more are unavailable at this time. See updates regarding VAB hearings. We appreciate your patience as we work with the County to resolve the issue.”
