Beware!
by Steven Brownstein
Several new advertisments have reached my desk selling international criminal record searches.
They have reached my desk because the subject of concern is the amount of mis-information these companies provide.
One "cloud computing company' I had the 'dis-pleasure' of negotiating with to put Straightline International criminal records on their system.
By the end of the negotiations I felt that they would use the information we would provide as if it were their own.
I passed on the deal.
They proved the point recently, now offering, directly through them, international criminal records.
Here's the problem. Here's your problem.
A computer cloud company does not know a thing about record searches. They have never seen the inside of a court house for purposes other than attending.
And let alone international! They've got to be kidding.
The cavaet is yours.
Straightline International spends tens of thousands of dollars travelling to and learning the record systems of countries to provide the best resource and information possible.
When all a company has to do is publish or in this case, re-publish, some worn out and misused, possibly out dated information on the Internet - add a 'click here' button to order - and call themselves an expert - who do I feel sorry for?
