Lee County Clerk of Court hosts free workshop on how to access public records, documents

September 02, 2018 posted by Steve Brownstein

Learn how to search and view Lee County’s civil and criminal court documents and public records at a free two-hour workshop Sept. 20 at the Cape Coral Public Library.
The seminar, which starts at 1:30 p.m., will provide information on how to get free copies of mortgages, deeds, marriage licenses and other official county records from the newly redesigned website. Information on how to participate in foreclosure and tax deed auctions will also be presented.
“This seminar gives Lee County residents helpful tips on researching prospective tenants, doctors, contractors, employees, and even people they are dating,” said Lee County Clerk Linda Doggett. “Knowing how to access your public records can help you make informed decisions and avoid dangerous pitfalls and scams.”
Other topics covered will include how to pay traffic tickets online; accessing the county’s financial and audit reports; requesting redaction of confidential information; postponing jury duty; and, reporting suspected guardianship fraud.
Registration is not required, but seating is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. The library is at 921 SW 39th Terrace in Cape Coral.
