Checkr Founders Admit Their Background Checks Contain Errors

April 24, 2019 posted by Steve Brownstein

Checkr cofounders admit their background checks aren't perfect.

If someone commits a crime away from their home state, their (so they say) screener could miss a conviction.

Records might be missing, outdated, or incorrect.

Both humans and machines have misread court documents, or erroneously included convictions for someone with the same name.

But the pair argue that machines (at some level) are better than humans at sifting through documents.(And that's about it).
