CRA's "The New Age" - Before anything else, confirm identity.

July 23, 2025 posted by Steve Brownstein

CRA's "The New Age" - Before anything else, confirm identity.
Digital identity verification has become an increasingly integral component of modern background screening.
The concept: Before you even run a criminal check, employment verification, or education verification, you need to be absolutely sure that the person you're screening is who they claim to be. Inaccurate identity information can lead to missed records or irrelevant data being pulled.
What else?
- Preventing identity fraud: With the rise of remote hiring and sophisticated identity theft, verifying identity upfront helps prevent individuals from using stolen or fabricated identities to gain employment.
That's it?
-Digital identity verification platforms often automatically extract and populate data from verified IDs (like name, date of birth, address). This reducing manual data entry errors and improves the accuracy of subsequent background checks.
Who's making money on this?
One tip -"Right to Work" Verification: In many countries (like the UK with its Digital IDVT scheme), digital identity verification is specifically approved for checking a candidate's "Right to Work," ensuring they are legally permitted to work in the country.
